LIMB ENHANCERS
While Peridot's main body is an illusion, her limb enhancers are actual physical objects which are not a projection of her gem, and will still remain even if Peridot gets "poofed". Engineered with modern gem tech, they are worn like a pair of gauntlets and boots, and conceal a variety of different useful functions (see right). [ ✖ ] NOTE: Peridot's limb enhancers were lost to the hoards of Del Pascia, April 2016. She's currently waiting for her chance to either craft replacements or request them.
FLASK ROBONOIDS (6)
Retrieved through the Ingress, these wobbly little robots obey Peridot's every command. Unfortunately, their sole function is to repair Gem warp-pads, of which the Moira has none, so they're effectively useless at this time. She keeps them in their dormant marble-shaped mode within the safety of her bed on the Mero deck. [ ✖ ]
PLUG ROBONOID (1)
More universally applicable than its flask brethren, the plug robonoid variety is large enough to ride on and can be deployed for the purposes of reconnaissance. Peridot has only one of these, and it's currently housed down in the cargo bay of the ship. [ ✖ ]

A young gem from Homeworld, Peridot might be one of the only newcomers to actually be grateful to be zapped aboard the Moira. At the point from which the Ingress pulled her from her own dimension, she was desperately seeking a way off of Earth, after becoming stranded there following the destruction of her space ship. Being stuck on an unfamiliar alien world was bad enough on it's own, but her desperation went beyond the mere desire for a return to familiarity: She was also working against the clock to escape the planet before a gem-created monstrosity known as "The Cluster" was due to emerge from the Earth's core, shattering whole planet in the process. So, upon arrival, she couldn't have cared less what the Captain's motivations for bringing her there were; she was just glad to be out of immediate danger.
Of course, her tune has changed a bit, now that the initial relief has worn off and she realizes that she's stuck working for weird aliens on a weird ship with no chance of contacting her leader or home planet for rescue... But, that's Peridot for you. She's fickle, arrogant, immature and rude as hell, which means she's not the easiest gem to get along with. However, exceedingly patient characters who can stand to put up with her egomaniacal nonsense long enough to really get to know her may eventually realize that, under all of the blustering and preening, Peridot is really just an sheltered and bewildered little alien who has found herself way out of her depth. There's just some pretty intense cultural differences skewing her perspective on things.
| STANDARD GEM POWERS |
- REGENERATION Technically, the true core of Peridot’s physical existence is the gem set into her forehead, while the rest of her is really a kind of magical hard light projection. If her projected humanoid form is damaged, she can retreat back into her gem for some time and regenerate. The amount of time it takes for her to be ready to re-form depends both on how much she wants to rush the process, and the extent of the damage she sustained in the first place.
- SHAPESHIFTING Following up on the whole hard-light projection thing, Peridot can shapeshift, as all gems can. The range of this ability can vary from simply altering the size and shape of a single limb, to changing her form entirely into an animal or inanimate object. Regardless of what shape she takes, though, that shape will always be green in color, and it will always have her gem clearly visible somewhere on it. Note, she has never actually had to use this power, but the capability for it is certainly there.
- IMMORTALITY Gems don’t actually age, though they can still get hurt and die. If the physical body takes damage, this will just be resolved by retreating to the gem and regenerating. However, they can be permanently killed if their actual gem is shattered.

| GAUNTLET POWERS |
- HELICOPTER HANDS Peridot's auxiliary fingers can extend and spin rapidly, functioning just like a set of helicopter blades, allowing her to take to the air at will.
- SCREEN PROJECTION Undeniably, the feature that Peridot relies upon the most: The gauntlet portion of her enhancers come equipped with a holo-screen feature. The frame of the screen is formed by four of the fingers on one "hand", which she can interact with like a touch screen using the remaining fifth finger. The device is capable of recording audio logs and storing massive amounts of information.
- HAND GUN Yes, it's a terrible pun. The hand forms a death-ray looking structure which is capable of firing off spheres of destructive green energy. Holding the charge creates bigger blasts.
- ELECTRIC SURGE When cornered or bound up, Peridot's mechanical fingers can emit a painful electrical pulse that will arc through conductive objects, deterring attackers.
- TRACTOR BEAM The gauntlets can project a kind of green energy that locks people and objects into a state of suspended animation for as long as Peridot maintains the beam on a target. This allows her to lift, move, and/or fling the subject about. Those trapped are still capable of speaking while snared by this power.
|
| BOOT POWERS |
- WALL SCALING Peridot's boots feature a peculiar anti-gravity function that allows her to adhere to sheer surfaces, such as walls or ceilings, and allows her to traverse them as she would the normal ground. This ability is NOT limited to magnetic surfaces.
- HEIGHT ENHANCEMENT Look, it may not sound that impressive to you, but those extra few inches do wonders for her confidence.

Pointless the Pomeranian
Gem first met dog when the former found the latter invading her room one day and chewing up one of her precious pairs of alien boxers. Needless to say, Peridot, being extremely sensitive about other people messing with her stuff, was not happy with this development. She took chase, the dog fled with the garment, and she thought she'd seen the last of it.
No such luck. For the next few days the dog kept showing up, mainly in various cabinets and storage devices in her work space, stealing tools and generally being a nuisance. Eventually she just accepted it's presence, and even started to care for the little creature (following some encouragement from Bruce Banner and Steven Universe). The dog was dubbed Pointless, because Gems are shit at naming and Peridot has a low opinion of the practice of keeping pets.
Pointless can be differentiated from his other Annoying Pomeranian brethren by the mechanical tracking collar around his neck, as well as by a bandanna made out of the shredded remains of that stolen pair of boxer shorts (because Peridot decided that if he wanted them that badly he could just keep them). The dog splits his time between hanging out with Peridot in her workshop during the day, and keeping her roommate Starflight company in Mero 011 at night.
