[In contrast to the handful of messages that Peridot has sent out to the network in the past, there’s no dramatic lead in to her video message this time. It’s just her, in front of the camera, looking exhausted and just generally annoyed, and she cuts right to the chase:]

…So apparently I’ve been “gone” from this world for a significant amount of time, however that’s supposed to work.

[There’s a moment where she seems like she’s going to ask for some kind of explanation, but you know what? Ugh. No. She’s not going to bother complaining or trying to make sense of this nonsense. YOU WIN, JOHTO. Forget questioning the mechanics of time and space here, this gem’s just going to move on to the bigger fish that need frying:]

I don’t suppose anyone has any idea where I might find the rest of my Pokemon? Clod’s here, [and sure enough, the little Elgyem is poking her head into frame, and she looks pleased as punch to be reunited with her trainer,] but the rest are conspicuously absent.

[Midnight approaches, and with it, Glitch City. Anyone who answers her call is in for a potentially unpleasant conversation, once everything around turns into blocks.]

Amethyst!?

[She tries to curb her enthusiasm, mainly because she doesn't want to let on that Envy has something she very badly wants back, so WITH GREAT STIFFNESS:]

Great. You can go ahead and send her back over to me, then.

I could...

Or, I mean, I could just keep her. You're so big on taking other people's Pokemon, you get it right?

[He doesn't even want to keep Amethyst permanently, but that doesn't mean he can't be a jerk about it. Besiiides, what's she gonna do from all the way over in New Bark? This can just be a problem for Future Envy to deal with.]

Are you SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?

[Sure didn't take long for her to blow her stack. She's right up in the camera and everything now too.]

Look, you got your stupid eevee back, didn't you!? So give me my rattata back before I come over there and I TAKE HER from you!

Oh yeah? And how're you gonna do that? You won't even be able to get here for weeks.

[He is wearing the smuggest of faces right now. No matter how much of a redemption arc he's had, Envy will basically always be an asshole at heart.]

[And no matter how much of a redemption arc Peridot has had, she will always be a high-strung brat. Case and point:]

I don't care how long it takes, I'm going to get my rattata back! She's MINE, and you can't keep her!

You can just TRY it.

[And with that last smarmy comment, Envy hangs up on her. Ah yes, this will surely not come back to bite him at all.]

[Peridot spends a few long seconds staring at her blank gear, utterly INCENSED with fury, before she gets it together and starts snatching her stuff up to hit the road. SHE'S COMING FOR YOU, PUNK.]

[Envy will be out in Goldenrod for the afternoon, wandering around because he was dared by his housemates to see if he could find any giant skeleton dinosaurs in all the blocky mess.]

[He even has Amethyst's Pokeball with him, although he doesn't have any Pokemon out because their weirdness was creeping him out.]

[Even with the glitch in effect it takes Peridot several hours to catch up to where he is. Several horror filled, panicky hours of staring at the blocky landscape in dismay and yelping every time she gets ambushed by pixelated animals in the tall grass.

Unsurprisingly, she's in a horrible mood when she does finally catch sight of Envy. She screeches to a halt, eyes narrowing, growling and scowling with ill intent. She points.]

YOU...

[Guess what voice Envy wasn't expecting to be hearing for another couple of weeks or longer?]

[...oh right. The block glitches. He's willing to bet that they had something to do with this. But no time to really think about that, because this became Future Envy's problem a whole lot quicker than he'd thought it would.]

[He hates being Future Envy.]

[He whirls around, a big scowl on his face that's mainly there to hide how startled he is.]

You! What are you doing here already?!
